Pune Metro: Vanaz Ramwadi phase fully functional

The route from Pimpri Chinchwad to Swargate is expected to be fully operational from next month, as the work for the underground Metro service, including its station from Civil Court station to Swargate, is nearing completion. The Pune Metro corridor from Vanaz to Ramwadi will soon be fully operational with the opening of the Yerwada Metro Station for commercial operation. The operational hours will be from 6 am to 10 pm.

Although work on the Yerwada station continued even after the Metro service had begun on the route, the entire Metro route from Vanaz to Ramwadi will now be fully operational. This will connect Yerwada to the rest of the Metro network and Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad city, significantly benefiting the daily commute of students, professionals, and residents traveling to and from Yerwada, including those heading to schools, colleges, and IT hubs.

The facade of the station is inspired by the historic Dandi March, symbolizing a significant chapter in India?s freedom movement. This station will serve not only as a vital transport link but also as a reminder of India's rich heritage. Maha Metro Managing Director Shravan Hardikar expressed happiness at announcing the opening of Yerwada Metro station, marking it as a significant milestone in their journey to provide efficient and convenient public transport to the citizens of Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad city.

Furthermore, the route from Pimpri Chinchwad to Swargate is anticipated to be fully operational from next month, with the underground Metro service from Civil Court station to Swargate nearing completion. Meanwhile, the Pune Metro rail is also working on extending the Metro route to Nigdi from Pimpri Chinchwad and Katraj to Swargate.
