Pune Metro Vanaz-Ramwadi Phase fully operational

Pune Metro's Vanaz to Ramwadi corridor is now fully operational with the opening of the Yerwada Metro Station for commercial use. Starting today, trains will run from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., connecting Yerwada with the rest of the Metro network, including Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad. This development is expected to greatly benefit daily commuters, including students, professionals, and residents traveling to and from Yerwada, particularly those heading to schools, colleges, and IT hubs.

The Yerwada station's design is inspired by the historic Dandi March, symbolising a significant chapter in India?s freedom struggle. This station not only serves as a vital transport link but also stands as a reminder of the nation?s rich heritage.

Maha Metro Managing Director Shravan Hardikar expressed his satisfaction with this milestone, stating, ?We are glad to announce the opening of Yerwada Metro station, marking a significant milestone in our journey to provide efficient and convenient public transport to the citizens of Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad city.?

Additionally, the metro route from Pimpri Chinchwad to Swargate is expected to be fully operational next month, as the work on the underground section from Civil Court station to Swargate nears completion. Meanwhile, the Pune Metro is also extending its network, with projects underway to connect Pimpri Chinchwad to Nigdi and Katraj to Swargate. (Indian Express)
