RailTel, Wadhwa tie-up for services at Wadhwa Wise City

The Wadhwa Group has entered into an agreement with RailTel Corporation of India (RCIL) wherein RCIL will invest to plan, design and create a state-of-the-art wired infrastructure capable of delivering high-speed Broadband, linear cable TV services and other VAS services at Wadhwa Wise City, a smart city project developed by The Wadhwa Group in Panvel.

It is also the first of its kind agreement by RailTel with a private developer to develop this kind of infrastructure. RCIL will build the entire end-to-end infrastructure and will have the exclusive rights to lay the wired and wireless infrastructure for a period of 10 years within the smart township. Other service providers will also get access to deliver their services which will include security services, Voice (over IP), and linear and nonlinear) cable TV/DTH and IPTV services as well as VAS.

The access network in Wadhwa Wise City Premises would be an underground 48/96 core optical fibre cable. Both the last mile and access network devices would be maintained and managed by an RCIL-approved vendor or MSP/access network partner. Further RCIL shall also augment capacity and plan a resilient network to handle RailWire traffic as per business projections. It shall also create RailWire pops to provide network connectivity to Wadhwa Wise City Residents.
