RailTel Secures Rs 327.4 Mn Order From North Central Railway

RailTel Corporation of India Ltd (RailTel) has secured an order worth Rs 327.4 mn from North Central Railway for reliability improvement of track circuits by providing Multi Section Digital Axle Counters (MSDAC) in parallel with existing Digital Track Circuit Controllers (DCTC) and other associated works. The scope covers 14 stations in the ALJN-DER section of the Prayagraj Division and has been classified as a domestic order relating to railway signalling. The company said it received a Letter of Acceptance and the work order on 23 July 2026 at 1:30 pm. The project is required to be executed by 23 January 2028.

The estimated value of the contract at Rs 327.4 mn is inclusive of taxes. RailTel indicated that the contract was awarded by North Central Railway and that neither the promoter nor the promoter group or group companies have any interest in the entity awarding the contract, noting that the order does not fall under related party transactions. The work will involve installation of MSDAC equipment alongside existing controllers to improve signalling reliability across the covered section.

In a separate disclosure in July, RailTel reported an arbitration initiated by 3i Infotech in respect of the Wi?Fi Monetisation Project. The claim lodged by 3i Infotech stands at Rs 602.6 mn while RailTel’s counterclaim amounts to Rs 913.4 mn, and the matter has been brought before an Arbitration Tribunal. The dispute concerns the termination of the contract that RailTel said it effected in accordance with the tender terms following an open and competitive bidding process. The company indicated that any financial implications, including compensation or penalty, will depend on the final adjudication of the claims.

Shares of RailTel Corporation of India Ltd ended at Rs 289.50, down by Rs 0.50 on the BSE. The new order adds to the company’s portfolio of railway infrastructure projects and is expected to support ongoing signalling and communications services provided to Indian Railways. Execution of the contract over the coming months will determine its contribution to the company’s revenue recognition and project pipeline.
