Railways To Run Record 380 Ganpati Special Train Trips

Indian Railways has announced the operation of 380 Ganpati Special train trips for 2025, the highest number ever, to ensure smooth and comfortable travel for devotees during the festive season. In comparison, 305 special trips were operated in 2023 and 358 in 2024, reflecting steadily rising demand.
Central Railway will run the largest share, with 296 services catering to the heavy festive rush across Maharashtra and the Konkan region. Western Railway will operate 56 trips, South Western Railway 22 trips, and Konkan Railway 6 trips.
The Konkan Railway route will feature halts at key stations including Kolad, Indapur, Mangaon, Goregaon Road, Veer, Chiplun, Ratnagiri, Kudal, Sawantwadi Road, Thivim, Madgaon, Karwar, Udupi and Surathkal, among several others, ensuring wider coverage for travellers across the coastal belt.
Ganpati Puja will be celebrated between 27 August and 6 September 2025. To manage the anticipated rush, Ganpati Specials have been operating since 11 August 2025, with frequencies being progressively increased as the festival approaches.
Indian Railways has made the detailed schedule available on the IRCTC website, RailOne app, and at all PRS counters. The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to delivering safe, reliable, and convenient travel, particularly during peak festival seasons when passenger demand rises sharply.
