“We are laying more emphasis on exports.”

This bauma, Action Construction Equipment (ACE) launched a whole series of innovative cranes; among them is the NX360o model, which as the company claims, will not be found anywhere in the world. Pradeep Sharma, President, shares more….

One pathbreaking offering: The NX 360° is a revolutionary crane. It is a combination of a slew crane and a pick-and-carry crane. When used with outriggers, it’s a slew crane, and on wheels it’s a pick-and-carry crane.

Demand drivers in 2019: The roads and highways, ports and railways segments.

Announcement contributing to the company’s growth in 2018: It is now time for our new-generation machines, introduced six to seven years ago, to go through a total upgrade that has not existed before.

We see a huge scope to expand in the earthmoving and road construction machinery segments. We are already leaders in tower cranes and mobile cranes. In terms of backhoes, compactors and graders, we can multiply 10 times in the next four to five years.

Challenge for the company in 2019: We do not see any challenge, except that our dealerships have to be more equipped in terms of technical knowledge and servicing the equipment. Operator skill is going to be a challenge for users, for which we have put up a DSIR-approved training centre that trains our people, customers’ people and dealers.

Key strategy to success in 2019: Always be close to the customer, understand his requirements, service the equipment in the best possible way in terms of response time, parts availability, trained manpower in any part of the country or whenever we export. We are laying more emphasis on exports. The after-sales market is important, and something that sets us apart.

Recommendation for growth of the construction equipment market: The whole chain of cash flow should be properly maintained. Financial closure of any project taken up is essential right in the beginning. It is important to have a clear cash flow at all points.
