Ajay Yadav, Energy Secretary and Chairman-cum-Managing Director of Bihar State Power Holding Company Limited (BSPHCL), carried out a series of inspections of power infrastructure and consumer service initiatives in Hajipur on Wednesday. He reviewed operational aspects at several locations and sought assurances that projects progress on schedule without compromising technical standards. The visit aimed to assess on-ground delivery of government schemes and the responsiveness of local power utilities. At the Dighi electricity and grid substations he examined supply arrangements, equipment functioning and technical safeguards, directing officials to maintain uninterrupted and quality electricity for consumers. He also inspected the under-construction grid substation at Mahua and reviewed progress against the project timeline, instructing that work be completed within the stipulated timeframe while upholding construction quality. Regular monitoring and proactive measures to prevent avoidable delays were emphasised as priorities for the executing agencies. In Bidupur block he inspected rooftop solar plants installed under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana and evaluated the condition of the systems installed under the ULA model, noting the potential for wider adoption. Officials were instructed to intensify awareness campaigns and explain benefits to consumers to expand participation in the scheme. Follow-up arrangements and technical support measures were to be strengthened to ensure system reliability and customer satisfaction. Yadav visited a bill correction camp organised by the Hajipur Rural Electricity Supply Sub-Division to review complaints and administrative handling of billing issues. He directed officials to resolve corrections promptly and to simplify procedures so that consumers do not face unnecessary inconvenience. The visit included assessment of grievance redressal timelines and the allocation of resources to expedite case closure. A subsequent review meeting with officials from the Electricity Supply Circle, Samastipur, and the Electricity Transmission Circle, Vaishali, covered power supply and transmission arrangements, ongoing projects and consumer service delivery. The Energy Secretary urged regular project monitoring, timely interventions to address bottlenecks and a time-bound approach to resolve outstanding consumer complaints. Strengthening the power network and ensuring accountability for progress were identified as immediate priorities for the state utility.
