NTPC NVVN Issues Tender For Three Megawatt Rooftop Solar Project

NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Limited (NVVN), a Maharatna company subsidiary, has issued an open tender for the development of a three megawatt (MW) grid-connected rooftop solar power project to be installed in behind the meter mode at BNP Dewas in Madhya Pradesh. The initiative is categorised under miscellaneous works and will follow a tender cum auction contract form, aiming to expand rooftop solar capacity in the region.

The tender process is designed as a three-cover system covering fee-related documents, pre-qualification and technical bids such as site survey undertakings and compliance with technical specifications, while the third cover comprises the financial bid including the bill of quantities and price schedules. This structured approach ensures that bidders meet all technical, financial and compliance requirements before evaluation.

Participants are required to provide a substantial earnest money deposit of Rs two million (mn) payable to NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Limited with no exemptions allowed and a bank guarantee is required as part of the security instruments. Although the summary mentions the bank guarantee for the initial deposit, details regarding a long-term performance bank guarantee or similar security will be specified within the full tender documents which are available for download.

The tender timeline notes that document download and sale started on 17 February 2026 at one pm, clarifications from bidders can be submitted until three March 2026 at six pm, the final bid submission deadline is nine March 2026 at five pm and bids will be opened on ten March 2026 at three pm. Bid submissions must certify compliance with policies including the fraud prevention policy and the integrity pact and the validity of submitted bids is set at 120 days. Interested parties may reach out to the Senior Manager at the NVVN Engineering Office Complex in Noida for additional information and the tender is presented as a strategic step to promote renewable rooftop energy in the state.
