Solidus Commissions 34 MW Captive Solar Project in Punjab

Solidus Techno Power has commissioned a 34 MW (AC) / 51 MW (DC) captive solar power project in Punjab, strengthening its presence in utility-scale renewable energy and captive power solutions. The project has been developed under the captive open access model, with the entire power output to be consumed by steel major Madhav KRG Group to meet its energy requirements with clean power.

The solar plant is located at Ghatiyawali in the Fazilka district of Punjab, with power evacuated at 66 kV. Spread across 125 acres, the project has been built using 590 Wp N-Type TOPCon photovoltaic modules with half-cut cell technology, FIMER inverters and advanced balance-of-system components. The design and technology choices are aimed at maximising generation efficiency and ensuring long-term operational performance.

Solidus Techno Power executed the project on a turnkey basis, covering land acquisition, PSPCL approvals, engineering, procurement and construction, module selection, 66 kV switchyard development, and operation and maintenance for 25 years. The integrated approach reflects the company’s capability to deliver end-to-end solar infrastructure projects at scale.

With a development and EPC portfolio exceeding 500 MW, Solidus Techno Power continues to strengthen its position in large-scale ground-mounted solar projects across North India. The company is targeting a total portfolio of more than 1,000 MW by the end of 2026, underlining its growth ambitions in India’s rapidly expanding renewable energy market.

The commissioning of the Punjab project highlights the rising adoption of captive solar solutions by energy-intensive industries and reinforces the role of open access renewable power in supporting industrial decarbonisation and energy security.
