Waaree Wins Green Hydrogen Project In Karnataka

Waaree Clean Energy Solutions (Waaree) has secured a contract to deliver a green hydrogen project in Karnataka, the company said in a statement. The assignment covers development, engineering, procurement and construction of a facility that will produce green hydrogen using renewable power. The project is described as part of the firm’s expansion into low carbon fuels and industrial decarbonisation services.

Under the agreement Waaree will integrate renewable generation, hydrogen production and balance of plant systems, and will manage commissioning and initial operations. The work will involve engineering design, site preparation and delivery of key process systems tailored to electrolytic hydrogen production. The company will coordinate with local stakeholders and contractors to meet regulatory and safety requirements.

The project aligns with national and state level objectives to scale green hydrogen manufacturing and reduce fossil fuel dependence in industrial processes. Analysts have noted that such projects contribute to long term supply chains for clean fuels and stimulate investment in associated technologies. The initiative is expected to support skills development and local employment during construction and early operations.

Waaree said the contract leverages its experience in renewable project delivery and portfolio management, and that it will deploy its project management teams to ensure timely execution. The company outlined plans to adopt modular construction and standardised interfaces to accelerate delivery while maintaining operational reliability. Collaboration with equipment suppliers and system integrators will be central to the delivery model.

Company executives indicated that the Karnataka project forms a template for future engagements in green hydrogen across India and the Asia Pacific region. The development is being advanced alongside broader investments in renewable generation, storage and transmission infrastructure to support clean fuel ecosystems. Observers view the deal as a sign of growing commercial momentum for green hydrogen projects in the country.
