MoRTH lays foundation stone for three NH projects at Rs 1,123 cr

Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, with CM Yogi Adityanath, laid the foundation stone for three National Highway (NH) projects worth Rs 1,123 crore in Uttar Pradesh.

Gadkari said that if UP continues to grow under double-engine governments for the next five years, it will compete with European and American standards.

The road projects and other developmental works under MoRTH were stalled when Gadkari joined the Ministry of PM Narendra Modi in 2014.

He said that since 2014, road projects worth 1.40 lakh crore have already been completed in UP and other projects worth Rs 1.80 crore are under progress.

He added that over Rs 45,000 crore had been spent on land acquisition and other related projects. Since 2014, Rs 3 lakh crore has been spent, and if the double-engine government continues, it will increase to Rs 5 lakh crore in five years.
