Afcons Infra Rises After Rs 3,355 Mn Arbitral Award

Afcons Infrastructure rose by two point eight two per cent to Rs 286.35 after the company received an arbitral award of Rs 3,355 million (mn) in its favour from a tribunal on 24 August 2026. The award followed proceedings against the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority and was communicated on that date. The stock movement reflected investor reaction to the ruling and the award will be accounted for in the company's financials.

The tribunal awarded a principal amount of Rs 1,522.5 million (mn) together with pre-award and pendente lite interest of Rs 1,832.5 million (mn). Interest was calculated at the State Bank of India base rate with quarterly rests from 1 May 2019 to 24 August 2026. The combined award, including interest, amounted to Rs 3,355 million (mn) and was payable to the company as stated in the tribunal order.

Net sales were Rs 26,710 million (mn), down 20.75 per cent year on year but up two point one nine per cent quarter on quarter. The tribunal award and operational performance will be reflected in subsequent disclosures by the company to investors and regulators.
