Delhi launches campaign to curb industrial pollution
Rai emphasised that despite the transition of these units to natural gas, strict vigilance would be maintained to ensure their compliance. He had previously urged the Centre to enforce a complete ban on firecrackers and permit only the movement of CNG and electric vehicles throughout the entire National Capital Region, aiming to combat air pollution.
Gopal Rai, Environment Minister, announced that the Delhi government planned to initiate a month-long campaign against industrial pollution, commencing on October 20. He informed the media that 66 teams had been established to monitor the types of fuels used in more than 1,700 industrial units in the capital. Rai emphasised that despite the transition of these units to natural gas, strict vigilance would be maintained to ensure their compliance.
