Hindustan Zinc Drives Action Against Corrosion

Hindustan Zinc Limited has launched the 2026 edition of its flagship campaign, #ZungKeKhilaafZinc, to build awareness and action against corrosion. Timed around Corrosion Awareness Day, the campaign targets both industry and consumers, highlighting how rust impacts safety, asset life and infrastructure durability.
As part of the initiative, Hindustan Zinc has introduced a Zinc Galvanisation Information Hub on hzlindia.com, offering accessible information on corrosion and the role of zinc galvanisation in extending asset life cost-effectively. The campaign also included a three-day radio drive in Delhi and Mumbai, supported by digital outreach across automotive, household, power and public infrastructure applications.
The company also conducted on-street vox pops in Mumbai to understand public perceptions of rust, revealing a need for simpler and more relatable communication. Arun Misra, CEO, Hindustan Zinc, said corrosion affects everyday life through vehicles, homes and infrastructure, and zinc galvanisation can help enhance durability.
Through #ZungKeKhilaafZinc 2026, Hindustan Zinc aims to encourage corrosion prevention in consumer choices, procurement decisions and infrastructure planning, supporting stronger, safer and more sustainable assets.
