India Becomes World’s Third-Largest Aviation Market

Civil Aviation Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu has announced that India now ranks as the world’s third-largest aviation market, underscoring the nation’s rapid economic growth and expanding air connectivity. He made the remarks while inaugurating the Airports Authority of India (AAI) Pavilion at the 44th India International Trade Fair in New Delhi.

Speaking to the media, the Minister highlighted the importance of introducing children to aviation knowledge early, noting that building technical awareness will inspire a highly skilled future workforce. He emphasised that the pavilion demonstrates aircraft operations and offers visitors—particularly students—valuable exposure to aviation technology and the functioning of air transport.

Mr Naidu said the aviation sector’s strong performance is a major driver of India’s progress towards a self-reliant and Viksit Bharat. Continuous expansion and modernisation of airport infrastructure across the country, he noted, has significantly boosted passenger experience, strengthened regional connectivity and improved overall operational capability.

The Minister added that the government’s sustained efforts have supported the growth of new routes, enhanced services and reinforced India’s position as one of the fastest-growing aviation markets worldwide.
