Telangana to develop second airport in Warangal

Telangana is set to see a major infrastructural transformation with the development of its second airport at Mamnoor in Warangal district. The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has given the green light to this project, which aims to enhance connectivity in northern Telangana. Currently, the only operational airport in the state is the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad, Hyderabad. This new airport will help decongest Hyderabad’s airport and stimulate economic growth in the Warangal region.

Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao’s government has committed Rs 205 crore for the acquisition of over 280 acres of land for the airport project. The AAI, which will oversee the development, will also bear the costs related to the infrastructure, operations, and maintenance of the airport. The new airport will cater to A-320 type aircraft and is expected to boost both tourism and local industries in Warangal and its surrounding areas.

The Mamnoor airport, located approximately 175 km from Hyderabad, is expected to significantly improve connectivity for residents of northern Telangana and ease pressure on the congested Hyderabad airport. It will also serve as a critical hub for regional air traffic, helping the state’s economy diversify. The Telangana government is also working on the acquisition of additional land to expand the runway and improve the airport’s infrastructure.

This new airport comes at a time when several other states in India are building or expanding airports to meet rising demand for air travel. Telangana’s investment in aviation infrastructure highlights its commitment to promoting regional development and improving connectivity in less-served areas. The Warangal airport is expected to be operational in the coming years, offering improved connectivity and boosting local development.

Elevated floors!

Raised access flooring, also called false flooring, is a less common interiors feature than false ceilings, but it has as many uses – if not more.A raised floor is a modular panel installed above the structural floor.
