CM Revanth To Inaugurate Three Point Three Two Kilometre Steel Flyover

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will inaugurate the three point three two kilometre four-lane Chanchalguda–Santoshnagar Steel Flyover on Thursday, linking Chanchalguda, Saidabad and IS Sadan and promising signal-free travel from Nalgonda crossroads to Owaisi Hospital. The corridor consists of a two point five three kilometre main viaduct and a 200 metre up-ramp at the IS Sadan junction. The main carriageway runs from Chanchalguda to Santoshnagar with additional ramps at Saidabad and IS Sadan.

The project was constructed at a cost of Rs six point two bn, of which Rs five point two three bn was allocated to civil works and Rs one point five three bn to land acquisition. Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation commissioner R.V. Karnan inspected the steel bridge ahead of the inauguration. Officials said the facility was completed after delays associated with the Covid-19 pandemic and land acquisition challenges.

Commuters travelling between Chanchalguda Printing Press and IS Sadan previously faced peak hour journeys of around thirty minutes because of severe congestion, and the new structure is expected to reduce that time to about five minutes. The main ramp runs from Chanchalguda to Yadagiri Theatre and the alignment allows motorists to bypass several congested junctions including Chanchalguda, Saidabad, Madannapet and IS Sadan. The scheme includes an up-ramp at Saidabad and a down-ramp at IS Sadan to aid local access.

The facility is anticipated to benefit employees of the Defence Research and Development Organisation and the Defence Electronics Research Laboratory who currently use the Chanchalguda route to reach their offices. A local resident noted that the opening will ease traffic snarls and shorten journeys from Malakpet to Chandrayangutta by avoiding multiple jammed junctions. Passenger unit counts cited by planners indicate a rise from 70,576 in 2015 to 193,632 in 2035, underscoring capacity needs that the flyover is intended to address.
