Delhi-Dehradun Expressway Project to Connect Mussoorie Directly

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) plans a 26-kilometre elevated road to connect the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway directly with Mussoorie. The Detailed Project Report is nearing completion and promises to improve travel for tourists and locals.

The elevated road will bypass congested routes in Dehradun city, allowing vehicles to cross over the Rispana and Bindal rivers, avoiding traffic bottlenecks.

Land acquisition is planned in 26 localities, involving the demolition of two thousand six hundred and fourteen houses along the rivers’ banks. Compensation will be provided either monetarily or through land exchange.
Once operational, tourists will be able to reach Mussoorie from Delhi within four hours by their own vehicles.

The project cost is estimated at Rs 61 billion, which includes land acquisition and compensation.

This project aims to reduce congestion in Dehradun and enhance accessibility to Mussoorie, known as the ‘Queen of Hills’, improving travel convenience and boosting tourism.
