Highway Infrastructure Secures Rs 354.4 Mn NHAI Contract

Highway Infrastructure has received a letter of acceptance from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for a contract valued at Rs 354.4 million (mn) for the Venkatapalem User Fee Plaza. The site is at kilometre 35+400 on the six-laning of the Vijayawada Bypass from Gollapudi to Chinnakakani and includes a major bridge across the Krishna River on NH-16 in Andhra Pradesh.

The scope covers operation and collection of user fees at the Venkatapalem Fee Plaza and the upkeep and maintenance of adjacent toilet blocks, including replenishment of consumables. The contract is awarded by a domestic entity and is to be executed over a period of 90 days. The engagement is for the role of a user fee agency responsible for daily toll operations and ancillary services.

Highway Infrastructure is an infrastructure development and management company engaged in tollway collection, engineering, procurement and construction infrastructure and real estate businesses. The company reported a 96 per cent year-on-year surge in consolidated net profit to Rs 64.1 mn for the third quarter of fiscal year 2026, while revenue from operations declined nine point two per cent to Rs 1,268.6 mn compared with the same period a year earlier. The company's stock on the BSE fell one point one nine per cent to end at Rs 46.57. Market participants noted that the stock market remained shut on account of Shri Ram Navami on the day of the report. The contract award is expected to add short term fee collection revenue and support routine maintenance cash flows for the company.
