Biman Bandar metro completes building the diaphragm wall

This week marked a significant development in the metro project at the airport. On May 3, the diaphragm wall's construction was completed, giving the Biman Bandar metro station a boost.

The diaphragm wall, which connects the Jai Hind Metro Station to the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport (NSCBI) terminal building, is in the subway, according to city metro authorities.

The cage on the wall is 17.405 meters long. It is around four meters wide and weighs about 15 metric tons. According to Kolkata Metro Railway, a traffic rerouting near the Airport Volvo bus stop was necessary to allow for the wall's construction.

The Airport Authority of India and the Bidhannagar Commissionerate had to approve it. Following approval, a traffic halt was implemented from 10.30 p.m. on May 30 to 7.56 a.m. on May 3.

The wall's construction was completed by the morning of May 3rd.
