MP Tejasvi Surya: Bengaluru Yellow Line to open next year

Tejasvi Surya, a Member of Parliament from Bengaluru South, conducted an inspection of the Yellow line of the metro and projected its likely inauguration in February 2024. He revealed that, as per the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), civil work on 15 out of the 16 stations is 95% complete, with the remaining 5% set to wrap up by the end of December 2023.

Additionally, Surya informed that the first two train sets for the Yellow line are expected to arrive from China, while the rest are being manufactured in Kolkata as part of the Make In India initiative. He also pledged to intervene to expedite the visa process for Chinese engineers and officials who need to visit Bengaluru for testing and trial runs.

The Yellow line will feature three interchangeable stations (RV Road, Silk Board, and Jayadeva), enabling commuters to switch between the Yellow, Pink, Green, and Purple lines. Once operational, this stretch is anticipated to serve 2.5 lakh passengers daily, offering relief from traffic congestion around Silk Board and Electronic City.

Surya emphasised the need for foot-over bridges (FOBs) at Bommasandra and Hebbagodi stations to enhance pedestrian safety. He also acknowledged the shortage of adequate parking spaces at metro stations as a deterrent for city residents to use the metro and stated his commitment to working with metro officials to address this issue by exploring various options for acquiring land to develop parking infrastructure.

Creativity is for Humans, Productivity is for Robots!

On most construction sites, the rhythm of progress is measured by the clang of steel, the hum of machinery and the sweat of thousands. But increasingly, new sounds are entering the mix: the quiet efficiency of algorithms, the hum of drones overhead, and the precision of robotic arms at work. Behind the concrete and cables, an invisible force is taking hold: data. It is turning blueprints into living simulations, managing fleets of machines, and helping engineers make decisions before a single brick is laid. This is not the construction of tomorrow; it is the architecture of today – built on ..
