Great Eastern Shipping To Sell Product Tanker Jag Pooja

The Great Eastern Shipping Company Ltd has announced the sale of its 2005-built Medium Range Product Tanker Jag Pooja, with a deadweight tonnage (DWT) of about 48,539 tonnes. The vessel was contracted for sale on 17 October 2025 to an unaffiliated third party and is scheduled for delivery to the buyer by the third quarter of FY26.

Following this transaction, Great Eastern Shipping’s owned fleet will consist of 40 vessels — comprising 26 tankers (including five crude tankers, 17 product tankers, and four LPG carriers) and 14 dry bulk carriers (two Capesize, ten Kamsarmax, and two Supramax) — with a combined capacity of 3.21 million DWT.

In addition, during the second quarter of FY26, the company entered into contracts to both acquire and sell one second-hand Suezmax crude tanker each. These three transactions — including the sale of Jag Pooja — are expected to be completed by the third quarter of FY26.

The move forms part of Great Eastern Shipping’s ongoing fleet optimisation strategy, balancing asset sales and acquisitions to maintain operational efficiency and market competitiveness.
