Shree Cement unveils new 3 MTPA grinding unit in West Bengal

Shree Cement has inaugurated a state-of-the-art cement grinding unit in Purulia district, West Bengal, with a capacity of 3 MTPA. The inauguration ceremony was presided over by West Bengal's Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, who hailed the investment as a boost to the state's industrial landscape and the cement sector's growth potential.

The facility was established by Shree Cement East, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company, with a total investment of Rs 5.50 billion , fully funded through the group's internal accruals.

Clinker supply to this unit will be facilitated by the company's cement facility in Baloda Bazar district, Chhattisgarh.

Hari Mohan Bangur, the company's Chairman, expressed their determination to establish another similar plant in West Bengal. This new plant will cater to the cement demand in West Bengal and Jharkhand, strengthening the company's foothold in the rapidly growing Eastern India market.

The inauguration brings the group's total cement production capacity in India to 50 MTPA, with plans to exceed 80 million tonnes in the coming years. Shree Cement now operates a total of 15 cement production plants in India."
