Fujiyama Approves One Point Two GW TopCon Plant At Ratlam

Fujiyama Power Systems Limited said its board approved the proposal to establish a one point two gigawatt (GW) TopCon solar cell manufacturing facility at its Ratlam plant in Madhya Pradesh. It operates a one gigawatt (GW) Mono PERC solar cell plant at Dadri in Uttar Pradesh and expects the additional TopCon capacity to strengthen integrated manufacturing across the solar value chain. The move is intended to support domestic cell availability and product quality.

The company indicated the estimated project investment is Rs three point five billion (bn) and that funding will be drawn from debt and internal accruals. Commercial operations are expected to commence in the first quarter of fiscal year 2028. The expansion is a central element of its backward integration and technology upgradation strategy aimed at reducing cost volatility, improving gross margins and ensuring timely availability of DCR compliant solar cells for its B2C rooftop business.

Fujiyama linked the decision to the implementation of ALMM-II for Solar PV Cells from first June 2026, which it believes will accelerate domestic demand for DCR solar panels and domestically manufactured cells. The firm noted its inclusion in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy ALMM-II list for solar cells and said this enhances its ability to serve government supported on grid rooftop schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojna. Company leadership characterised the Ratlam approval as an important milestone that will enhance cost control and supply security.

With three decades' experience, Fujiyama supplies rooftop solar panels, inverters, lithium and tubular batteries, chargers and power electronics and operates multiple manufacturing sites and an expanding two gigawatt Solar Power Generating System (SPGS) platform at Ratlam. The business is predominantly B2C and serves households through a distribution and service network of more than 8,900 channel partners including distributors, dealers and service engineers. The company said the Ratlam facility will support its ambition to solarise Indian households with reliable, indigenously manufactured solutions while reinforcing supply chain resilience.
