Fujiyama Power Systems To Set Up One Point Two GW Plant At Ratlam

Fujiyama Power Systems has announced plans to establish a one point two gigawatt (GW) TopCon solar cell manufacturing facility at Ratlam in Madhya Pradesh. The move follows its existing one gigawatt (GW) Mono PERC solar cell plant at Dadri in Uttar Pradesh and is intended to broaden the firm's domestic manufacturing footprint.

The company indicated that commercial operations at the Ratlam TopCon unit are expected to commence in the first quarter of fiscal year 2028 and that the project carries an estimated investment of Rs three point five billion (bn). Funding for the scheme will come from a mix of debt and internal accruals, the firm added. Management presented the expansion as part of a wider strategy to secure upstream capacity and improve cost competitiveness.

Fujiyama said the additional TopCon capacity will substantially strengthen integrated manufacturing capabilities across the solar value chain and support reliable availability of domestic content requirement (DCR) compliant cells. The firm noted recent inclusion on the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) approved list under ALMM-II for solar cells, which it expects to aid supply to DCR solar panel programmes. The company also identified the on-grid rooftop market, particularly the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojna, as a target for growth.

Leadership described the Ratlam facility as a means to consolidate competitive positioning and to advance the objective of solarising Indian households through indigenously manufactured solutions. Executives framed the expansion as enhancing backward integration, improving cost control and ensuring steady product availability for domestic projects. The firm underlined its commitment to quality and local manufacturing as central to its market strategy.

Fujiyama Power Systems supplies rooftop solar systems and related components including solar panels, inverters, lithium and tubular batteries, chargers and power electronics. The company positioned the Ratlam investment as a strategic addition to its existing product and manufacturing portfolio.
