At its Year in Infrastructure 2025 conference in Amsterdam, Bentley Systems reaffirmed its vision for trustworthy AI and connected digital ecosystems shaping the future of infrastructure engineering. The company unveiled AI-powered design applications and Bentley Infrastructure Cloud Connect, a unifying platform connecting data, workflows and professionals across the project lifecycle.“AI is poised to transform infrastructure,” said Nicholas Cumins, CEO, Bentley Systems. “At Bentley, our vision is for AI to empower engineers – not replace them. Trustworthy AI, built on infrastructure context, can improve engineering productivity and transform workflows across project and asset lifecycles.”Bentley’s new suite – OpenSite+, OpenUtilities Substation+ and SYNCHRO+ – integrates Bentley Copilot, an AI assistant that enhances design speed, precision and collaboration. Cumins emphasised that with engineering capacity stretched worldwide, AI offers “a step change in productivity that can help close this capacity gap”.Complementing its AI focus, Bentley Infrastructure Cloud Connect establishes a secure, connected environment for managing project and asset data. “Infrastructure data lives everywhere, and it’s rarely connected. That changes with Bentley Infrastructure Cloud Connect,” explained Julien Moutte, Chief Technology Officer. “Professionals can access and manage all project and asset data in one place – fully contextualised and connected – from design through operations.”The company’s acquisition of Cesium further strengthens this foundation with advanced geospatial and reality modelling capabilities. “With the integration of iTwin and Cesium, we are creating an open platform for the built and natural environment, enabling professionals to design, build and operate in a real-world context,” added Patrick Cozzi, Chief Platform Officer. Each year, Bentley honours innovators in infrastructure through its Going Digital Awards, celebrating outstanding projects that advance digitalisation, sustainability and resilience.
