GVMC Commissioner Visits TIDCO Housing Colony

The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) Commissioner, CM Saikanth Varma, visited the TIDCO housing colony at Satyanarayanapuram near Anakapalli on Saturday. He reviewed the progress of construction works and inspected the infrastructure facilities.

The housing colony comprises approximately 2,750 units, of which about 2,500 are nearing completion. The remaining 250 units are expected to be completed within the next few months.

The infrastructure facilities in the housing colony are almost complete. Roads, drains, water supply, and electricity have all been installed. Bank loans have been arranged for 116 beneficiaries, and registrations are in progress for the remaining 123 beneficiaries.

Varma expressed satisfaction with the progress of the construction works and directed the officials to expedite the remaining works. He also instructed the officials to ensure that the beneficiaries are allotted their houses at the earliest.

The TIDCO housing colony is one of the largest housing projects in Visakhapatnam. It is being constructed at a cost of over ₹1,000 crore. The project is expected to benefit over 2,750 families.

The GVMC is also constructing a number of other housing projects in Visakhapatnam. These include the 24,000 TIDCO housing units that you mentioned in your query. These units are being constructed in various parts of the district, including the suburbs and slums.

The 300 square feet housing units will be given to the beneficiaries for just one rupee. The beneficiaries will be selected through a lottery system.
