Odisha CM to launch two EWS housing schemes on Nov 20

After the notification of the Housing for All in Urban Areas policy in 2015 in Odisha, Naveen Patnaik, Chief Minister, is set to inaugurate over 1,700 housing units for the urban poor in two projects, marking a significant milestone.

The projects, developed by the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) in a public-private partnership (PPP), include social infrastructure facilities such as neighbourhood shopping centres and community gathering spaces. Currently, more than 7,000 housing units for the urban poor are at various stages of construction in the city.

It is noteworthy that under the 2015 policy, the government has implemented seven different models to facilitate the creation of affordable housing units, which includes providing incentives to private developers.
