JHS Svendgaard to Invest Rs 250 Million in Kala Amb Expansion

JHS Svendgaard Laboratories (JHS), a leading Indian manufacturer of oral care products, has announced an investment of Rs 250 million to expand its manufacturing footprint in Kala Amb, Himachal Pradesh. The investment is aimed at strengthening production capacity, introducing advanced technologies and supporting the company’s next phase of growth in response to rising domestic and global demand.

As part of the expansion plan, JHS will construct a new 100,000 sq ft manufacturing facility on its existing five-acre land parcel at Kala Amb. The project is expected to be executed over a two-year period and is scheduled to become fully operational by 2027. The new unit will house specialised equipment designed for high-growth and future-ready oral care product categories, enabling the company to cater to new business opportunities.

The expansion follows Letters of Intent received from key customers seeking JHS’s manufacturing expertise across new segments. With an expanding product portfolio that includes offerings such as Anchor-free toothbrushes, dental floss sets, ultra-soft Butter on Gums toothbrushes, Gentle Giant and Dynamic Luminance ranges, the enhanced facility is expected to play a critical role in scaling operations. Once fully utilised, the new unit is projected to generate annual revenue of up to Rs 1 billion and create approximately 500–600 employment opportunities in the region.

“This is a demand-driven and customer-focused investment, and our contribution to the Make in India initiative,” said Nikhil Nanda, Founder and Managing Director, JHS Svendgaard. “By investing in new infrastructure and technologies, we aim to position JHS as a one-stop solution for oral care products for brands across the globe.”

JHS is currently the only Indian manufacturer offering a complete range of oral care products under one roof and has long-standing partnerships with brands such as Dabur, Patanjali, Walmart and Amway. Recently securing U.S. Medical Device Certification, the company continues to strengthen its position as a trusted global manufacturing partner, with the Kala Amb expansion reinforcing its focus on operational excellence and long-term growth.
