Jupiter Hospitals Buys Land for New Hospital; To Add 300 Beds

Jupiter Hospitals has acquired land to expand its operations, aligning with its strategic growth objectives. The new hospital, with an estimated capital expenditure of Rs 4 billion, will add 300 beds to the chain’s operational capacity. The project is set to be completed in four years.

The funding for the land purchase has been covered through internal accruals, while the financing for the hospital's construction will be determined after obtaining necessary approvals. The hospital will cater to underserved areas in Dahisar, Mira Bhayandar, and Vasai Virar Municipal regions.

Currently, Jupiter Hospitals, along with its subsidiary, operates 1,061 beds as of January 1, 2025. CEO Ankit Thakker had earlier mentioned plans to double the company's bed capacity over the next three to five years, which is expected to lead to a similar increase in revenue.

Thakker also revealed that 1,000 beds are already under construction, with 500 beds in the Palava region of Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) and another 500 in Pune. The company is also exploring more opportunities in western India.
