MSDE and IPE Global Strengthen Women-Centric Skilling Ecosystem

The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) has signed a memorandum of understanding with IPE Global Limited (IPE Global) to strengthen a gender-responsive and future-ready skilling ecosystem for young women across India. The agreement seeks to enhance programme design and to increase the participation of women in aspirational job roles while fostering stronger linkages between skilling, employability and inclusive economic growth. MSDE emphasised that the partnership forms part of broader efforts to ensure access to dignified employment pathways for women from underserved regions.

The collaboration will prioritise evidence-based, gender-responsive interventions aimed at improving participation and outcomes in skill development, addressing structural barriers and aligning training with industry demand. It will focus on strengthening placement pathways through private sector engagement and on improving pathways from training to sustained employment. The partners plan to use monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to support data-driven governance and to adapt interventions according to evidence.

The initiative includes a multilingual national awareness campaign to promote participation of women in both skilling and formal employment and to raise awareness of aspirational opportunities. Enhanced employer engagement will seek gender-inclusive hiring commitments and practical measures to support workplace inclusion. The scheme will also reinforce special skilling efforts for adolescent girls to create outcome-oriented and future-ready skilling models.

The implementation approach will combine policy support, stakeholder consultations and capacity building for training providers to ensure quality and relevance of courses. Emphasis will be placed on creating linkages with industry bodies and employers to translate training into credible career pathways and to measure placement outcomes. The initiative is expected to contribute to more inclusive economic growth by enabling young women to access improved employability prospects and supportive systems in a changing economy.
