NCVET Capacity Workshop For Awarding Bodies In New Delhi

The National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET) of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) will hold a one-day capacity building and awareness workshop for awarding bodies at Kaushal Bhawan in New Delhi on seven April 2026. The workshop is intended to strengthen the skilling ecosystem by improving implementation practices and enhancing awareness of the regulatory framework. Organisers expect the event to promote alignment with national priorities for vocational education and training and to encourage greater coordination among stakeholders. The programme will address operational and implementation challenges faced by awarding bodies.

The agenda includes sessions to strengthen alignment with the National Skills Qualifications Framework and presentations on NCVET regulatory functions, followed by sharing of best practices and challenges by awarding bodies. A dedicated session on digital integration will cover the National Qualifications Register, the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC), the SIDH portal, DigiLocker and the KaushalVerse platform to highlight the role of technology in enabling efficient and transparent skilling systems. Further sessions will examine training, assessment and monitoring of awarding body operations, including NCVET monitoring mechanisms. The detailed schedule will provide time for presentations and interactions with experts from higher education and vocational training institutions.

The programme will be inaugurated by Union Minister Jayant Chaudhary, Minister of State with independent charge of MSDE and Minister of State for Education, who will unveil NCVET employability skills modules and release the council's bi-annual newsletter. Senior officials from MSDE, the Ministry of Education and NCVET will participate, along with representatives of awarding bodies and stakeholders from the skilling and education ecosystem. Participants will include the NCVET chairperson and executive members, and experts from institutions such as the University Grants Commission, the Central Board of Secondary Education and the Directorate General of Training. The event will create opportunities for direct engagement on policy interpretation and operational practice.

The workshop is expected to clarify NCVET regulatory expectations and promote consistent qualification development, delivery, assessment and certification across awarding bodies. It will support adoption of digital tools for transparency and efficiency.
