Patel Engineering Bags Renukaji Dam Project Worth Rs 9,100 Million

Patel Engineering has secured a contract to build the Renukaji dam in Himachal Pradesh at a value of Rs 9,100 million (mn). The company said the award will involve civil works and associated infrastructure related to dam construction and water management. The agreement was disclosed in a regulatory filing that noted the contract value and project location. The announcement was released on 23 February 2026.

The order forms part of a broader programme of infrastructure investments aimed at improving water storage and irrigation in the region. Patel Engineering expects the project to contribute to its order book and to provide sustained construction activity over the contract period. The firm highlighted its engineering and project execution capabilities as factors in securing the assignment. The project is expected to involve complex site works and coordination with local authorities.

The contract value converts from 910 crore to 9,100 million, reflecting a significant addition to the company's project pipeline. Financial analysts noted that large infrastructure awards can provide revenue visibility and support medium term cash flows while execution risk remains dependent on timelines and site conditions. Patel Engineering will allocate manpower and equipment to commence preparatory works and mobilise resources in the initial phase. The company's engineering expertise and prior experience in large scale projects are expected to guide execution.

The award may strengthen the firm's presence in the water infrastructure sector and position it for further opportunities in similar projects. Shareholders and stakeholders will monitor progress through periodic disclosures and regulatory filings as the company advances the work. The project aligns with government priorities to enhance water resource management and regional development. Patel Engineering will be required to manage environmental and logistical considerations as it progresses the construction.
