PM Modi focuses on 8 infra projects

Hundreds of infrastructure projects have undergone cost and time overruns. However, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is focused only on eight of them. PM Modi has instructed all the stakeholders involved to ensure that they face no delays and cost escalations.

PM Modi recently addressed the concerned Chief Secretaries of States and Union Territories and Secretaries of the Ministries and Departments via video conference.

The eight projects mentioned are, the Mumbai Urban Transport Project Phase-3, four-laning of the Melur-Karaikudi section of NH, Ginigera-Raichur New BG line, the North East Gas Grid Project, the Raipur-Vishakhapatnam Economic Corridor, the Sulwade-Jamphal-Kanoli Lift Irrigation Scheme, the Kakinada-Srikakulam Natural Gas Pipeline Project, and the Patratu Super Thermal Power Project.

The projects spread across 14 states, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Odisha, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Mizoram, and Jharkhand. PM Narendra Modi further directed the officials to give special attention to the National Broadband Mission (NBM).

He said that the agencies involved need to map their projects with the water bodies under-development in the Amrit Sarovar. On April 24 this year, he launched a new initiative named Mission Amrit Sarovar, aimed at conserving water for the future. It comprises the development and rejuvenation of 75 water bodies in every district of India.
