Premier Energies Commissions Five Point Six GW Plant in Telangana

Premier Energies has commissioned a five point six gigawatt (5.6 GW) solar module manufacturing facility at Seetharampur in Telangana, with trial production underway. Spread across 75 acres, the facility is expected to generate around 2,000 jobs and bolster the local economy while strengthening India's clean energy manufacturing ecosystem. The addition raises the company's total module manufacturing capacity to 11.1 GW.

The plant features advanced automation and high-efficiency production lines capable of manufacturing four G12R TOPCon modules every 16 seconds. It integrates AI-powered fault detection to identify and rectify defects in real time, ensuring consistent quality and improved reliability. TOPCon technology combined with Zero Busbar architecture is designed to increase energy yield, reduce optical losses and improve durability for domestic and global markets.

The managing director said the commissioning marked a significant milestone in building a fully integrated solar manufacturing ecosystem and that leveraging advanced technologies and scaling across the value chain from ingots to modules would enable delivery of reliable, high-efficiency solutions at scale to support India's clean energy transition. The chief strategy officer said the facility aligned with India's renewable energy ambitions and would enhance supply chain resilience to meet growing global demand.

The company is undertaking a Rs 125 billion (Rs 125 bn) capital expenditure programme over three years to more than double its solar manufacturing capacity, expand backward integration into ingots and wafers and diversify into inverters, transformers and battery systems. With a 30-year track record in solar manufacturing, the company is recognised for a focus on technology innovation and sustainability and has earned Great Place to Work certification for five consecutive years. Premier Energies reported a 53.44 per cent year-on-year rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 3.92 billion in Q3 FY26 and revenue from operations rose 13.02 per cent year-on-year to Rs 19.36 billion for the quarter ended 31 December 2025. The scrip fell 0.65 per cent to Rs 888 on the BSE.
