Government Releases Rs 310 mn For Hindon Elevated Road Extensions

The state government has released Rs 310 million (Rs 310 mn) to begin extension works on the Hindon elevated road in Noida. The initial tranche is intended to enable preliminary mobilisation and the commencement of on-site activities for the extension programme. Authorities said the move forms part of broader efforts to improve arterial connectivity in the region. The decision follows assessments of traffic patterns and aims to provide immediate relief on congested sections.

The funds will be used to cover immediate construction needs and related preparatory work, including site clearance and the laying of foundations. Local civic agencies and the public works department will co-ordinate procurement and tendering processes to select contractors. Officials indicated that environmental and traffic management clearances will be prioritised to reduce disruption during works. Contractors will be required to follow stipulated timelines and submit regular progress reports to the coordinating agencies.

The extensions are expected to relieve congestion on existing stretches of the Hindon elevated road and to streamline movement between residential and industrial corridors in the area. Improved road capacity is anticipated to support commerce and daily commuting by reducing bottlenecks on feeder routes. Planners regard the scheme as a key piece of infrastructure to accommodate future traffic growth. Urban planners expect phased delivery to allow adjoining infrastructure projects to integrate with the extended carriageway.

Work is due to begin immediately following release of the funds, with monitoring arrangements established to track progress and expenditure. The initial release is an early instalment and further funding will be disbursed in phases as milestones are achieved. Authorities have emphasised the need to adhere to safety standards and minimise inconvenience to commuters during construction. Authorities also plan to communicate work schedules to commuters to help manage alternative routes and peak hour flows.
