GDA Seeks Rs 3.75 Billion For Key Ghaziabad Projects

The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has sought Rs 3.75 billion from the Uttar Pradesh government to fund five major infrastructure projects aimed at easing traffic congestion and improving connectivity across the city.

The most prominent among these is the construction of two ramps linking Vasundhara and Kanawani to the 10.3 km Hindon Elevated Road, for which the GDA has requested Rs 2 billion. The proposed two-lane, 400-metre-long ramps will connect to Sidharth Vihar through a slip road and cloverleaf interchanges, expected to cut travel time to the Delhi border from 30–45 minutes to under 10 minutes.

Another major initiative is a Rs 1.25 billion fully automated multi-level parking facility at the Rajnagar District Centre (RDC). Designed to accommodate 900 vehicles, the project will address chronic parking shortages in one of Ghaziabad’s busiest commercial zones.

Additionally, the GDA has proposed a Rs 360 million road project to connect Meerut Road with NH-58, aimed at enhancing regional accessibility and decongesting city routes.

If approved, all the projects will be financed under the state’s infrastructure development fund, with the GDA planning to present the proposals to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath shortly for approval.

Officials said the projects are part of a broader plan to strengthen Ghaziabad’s transport infrastructure, streamline urban mobility, and boost economic growth by improving access to Delhi and neighbouring regions.
