Earlier, in August 2020, a section of the road collapsed during construction of the flyover, prompting a temporary halt to work. Residents indicated that a sewer pipeline laid beneath the carriageway frequently crumbles, undermining the road base and causing sections to sink, and they connected the recurrent collapses to persistent subsurface decay. Local accounts stated that repair crews have returned to the site on multiple occasions but that the underlying pipeline problem has not been fully resolved. The recurring nature of the incidents suggests chronic instability beneath the roadway rather than isolated surface deterioration.
