K2 Infragen wins contract; to construct a four-lane rail overbridge

K2 Infragen has clinched a substantial contract valued at Rs 902 million to construct a four-lane rail overbridge on the Patna-Mughalsarai section of Danapur Division in Chandauli district, Uttar Pradesh. The winning bid was secured through a joint venture between Gangasagar Singh and PRL Infrastructure, with K2 Infragen assuming full responsibility for project execution, entrusted by the UP-State Bridge Corporation. Scheduled for completion within 18 months, this project aims to boost connectivity corridors and facilitate seamless mobility across railway tracks in Uttar Pradesh.

This development aligns seamlessly with the priorities outlined in this year's Union Budget, which earmarked Rs 2410 billion for the domestic railway sector. This allocation aims at procuring modern Vande Bharat trains, expanding track networks, doubling existing routes, and implementing automated train safety technology. Uttar Pradesh emerged as a significant beneficiary, receiving a substantial allocation of Rs 175 billion from the railway budget.

Pankaj Sharma, MD, K2 Infragen, expressed delight at securing this pivotal project, highlighting its potential contribution of Rs. 350 million to the company's revenues for the fiscal year 2024-2025. Sharma emphasised that the completion of the 4 Lane Rail Over Bridge would significantly enhance railway infrastructure in the Patna-Mughalsarai section, Chandauli, aligning with government efforts to modernise Indian Railways. With a focus on quality work and timely completion, K2 Infragen aims to play a pivotal role in enhancing connectivity and mobility in the North Indian region.

This contract further enriches K2 Infragen's illustrious project portfolio, which spans across engineering, procurement, and construction domains, encompassing roads, bridges, railways, water supply works, and buildings. The company's impressive order book now stands at Rs 4.437 billion. Additionally, K2 Infragen is actively engaged in constructing a similar 2-lane flyover for the Public Works Department of Madhya Pradesh. This latest contract underscores K2's commitment to quality, innovation, and excellence, reinforcing its position in the infrastructure sector and earning accolades for its exemplary project delivery capabilities.
