Road Construction Industry to launch RAHSTA Expo in Delhi

RAHSTA Expo Committee announces the launch of 14th RAHSTA Expo on Tuesday, 9th April at PHD Chamber, New Delhi. The launch will be followed by a roundtable discussion ‘SAHI RASTA: The Road to Progress’ which will discuss trends, challenges and policy changes in road construction developments.

Luminaries present will include:
Chairman of RAHSTA Expo Committee - Vipin Sondhi, former MD, Ashok Leyland; Members of RAHSTA Committee including RK Pandey, Former Member, NHAI; SK Nirmal, Secretary General, Indian Roads Congress, Lt Gen (Retd) Harpal Singh, President, International Road Federation.

About RAHSTA Expo

The 10th India Construction Festival is bringing forth the 14th RAHSTA (Roads & Highways Sustainable Technologies & Advancements) Expo this year and is putting across the platform which brings together industry leaders and innovative technologies to promote sustainable materials and cutting-edge techniques for building high-quality roads. The India Construction Festival has been lauded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for its mission to building excellence for the construction sector. This year's expo builds on past successes, offering a key platform for industry stakeholders to showcase innovations, address challenges, and explore opportunities in road and highway construction.

Attended by 500 construction CEOs, including 50 global CEOs, this year anticipates over 100 global CEOs among the attendees.

Focus Areas

- Discussing strategies to incorporate technology and innovation into road building, toll, surveillance and maintenance, like smart roads, solar roads, recycled plastic roads, fast tags, EPC tolls, speed cameras, PIM and BIM.
- The Vision 2047 plan, in which Bharatmala has subsumed, also aims to build 50,000 km of access controlled high speed corridors.
- Discussing ideas to curb accidents and make roads & highways safer as India has the highest road accident death rate in the world, clocking 1.5 lakh plus deaths in 2023.
- Understanding the effects and progress in Northeast India’s road building spree, supported by NHAI and BRO. Over the past nine years (2014-2023), a total of 4,950 km of the National Highway Network has been developed at a cost of Rs. 41,459 crore.
- Exploring materials and technology to build sustainable roads.
