Salasar Wins Rs 2.32bn UP Power Transmission Project

Salasar Techno Engineering Limited has strengthened its presence in India’s power transmission sector after securing a Rs 2.32 billion turnkey contract from Uttar Pradesh Power Transmission Corporation Limited.

The high-voltage transmission project, supported by funding from Germany’s development bank KfW, highlights Salasar’s growing role in infrastructure initiatives with significant socio-economic impact. Awarded in November 2025, the contract involves the end-to-end execution of a 400 kV DC Twin Moose transmission line linking the Banda and Chitrakoot districts in Uttar Pradesh.

Spanning nearly 130 km, the scope of work includes engineering and detailed design, supply of equipment, erection, testing and commissioning. Once operational, the transmission line is expected to improve grid stability and reliability, reduce transmission losses and support rising electricity demand driven by industrial growth and rapid urbanisation in the region.

Commenting on the win, Shashank Agarwal, Managing Director of Salasar Techno Engineering, said the project demonstrates the company’s capability to deliver complex, large-scale transmission infrastructure of national importance. He added that Salasar’s integrated EPC strengths, execution framework and focus on quality, safety and timely delivery continue to position it as a trusted partner in India’s power transmission and distribution ecosystem.

The new contract further reinforces Salasar Techno Engineering’s role in building resilient, future-ready power infrastructure aligned with India’s long-term energy security goals and economic growth ambitions.
