NBCC Wins Rs 586.1 mn PMC Contract From Odisha University

NBCC (India) has secured a project management consultancy contract from Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University in Baripada, Mayurbhanj, Odisha. The contract is valued at approximately Rs 586.1 million (mn) and covers construction of academic and allied buildings, internal roads and drainage systems together with associated electrical and mechanical works under an Infrastructure Development Grant. The company indicated the project will be executed for a domestic awarding entity and that specific timelines will be finalised subsequently.

NBCC clarified that neither its promoter nor group companies have any interest in the awarding entity and that the engagement does not constitute a related party transaction. The company described its role as project management consultancy and said it will supervise design, procurement and construction phases on behalf of the university. The contract value was stated in local currency and will be processed through standard corporate governance and compliance mechanisms.

NBCC operates in three major segments and these are project management consultancy, real estate and engineering procurement and construction. The firm reported consolidated net profit growth of 38.5 per cent to Rs 1,972.2 million (mn) on a seven point six per cent rise in revenue to Rs 30.2239 billion (bn) in the quarter over the year earlier. The company presented these financials as part of routine disclosure to stakeholders and noted continued focus on order execution and cash flow management.

Shares of NBCC ended lower on the BSE as the stock fell by five point seven three per cent to close at Rs 79.10, reflecting market reaction to broader sector movements. The company reiterated that the award is not a related party matter and that detailed timelines and project milestones will be announced in due course. The university project is expected to add to NBCC's order book and present opportunities for execution across disciplines.
