IndiGo to Launch Direct Flights to 10 Global Cities

IndiGo will introduce direct flights to London, Athens, and eight other international cities in the current financial year, marking a significant expansion of its global operations. The airline, India’s largest by market share, aims to cross 600 aircraft in its fleet by financial year 2030.

Speaking at a press conference in New Delhi, Chief Executive Officer Pieter Elbers highlighted the enormous opportunity in Indian aviation, driven by rising demand and robust infrastructure development. He projected that the number of air passengers in India could double between 2025 and 2030.

Starting in July, IndiGo will launch flights from Mumbai to Manchester and Amsterdam. Later this year, it will add services to London, Athens, Copenhagen, Siem Reap, and four additional destinations in Central Asia.

This international expansion reflects IndiGo’s strategy to strengthen its position in the global market while supporting India’s growing connectivity needs. The new routes will boost tourism, facilitate business travel, and provide greater convenience for outbound Indian travellers.

IndiGo’s ongoing investment in its fleet and network underscores the airline’s long-term commitment to playing a central role in India’s aviation growth story.
