Amritsar MP Inaugurates Road Project in Majitha Constituency

Amritsar MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla inaugurated a 9-kilometer road project worth Rs 9.02 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana in the Majitha constituency. The road, stretching from Talwandi to Hamza Road to Majitha via Begewal, addresses long-standing demands for improved connectivity in the region.

Aujla shared that during his visits to the area, locals consistently requested the construction of this road. He expressed his commitment to fulfilling this demand and emphasized that the road would be completed by November. He also stressed that the responsibility for government-funded projects lies with him, while the state government should handle local work.

The MP assured that the Mandi Board would oversee the project's quality, and he had instructed the contractor to ensure no corruption in its execution. He vowed to personally monitor progress to ensure public funds are used efficiently.

Aujla further highlighted that the large size of the constituency often prevents him from receiving information on pending work, encouraging local MLAs to forward demands directly to him. He also appealed to other leaders to communicate any ongoing or pending work so that the necessary funding could be secured from the central government.

The inauguration ceremony saw the presence of local leaders, including former rural head Bhagwant Pal Singh Sachhar and other notable figures from the Majitha constituency.
