Noida To Resurface 150 km Of City Roads By April End

Noida Authority has said it will resurface 150 km of city roads by the end of April under a focused maintenance drive. The programme will prioritise arterial roads and neighbourhood links that have deteriorated during the monsoon and winter months. Work will include milling of damaged surfaces, filling of potholes and laying of a new wearing course to improve durability. The schedule is intended to reduce recurring repairs and deliver smoother commutes for residents.

Traffic will be managed through phased closures, temporary diversions and night work where feasible to limit disruption. Emergency lanes will be maintained and priority will be given to public transport corridors and hospital approaches. The authority will deploy mechanised pavers and compactors to accelerate progress and ensure uniform surface texture. Local ward offices are to coordinate with engineering teams to identify critical stretches and communicate schedules to residents.

Officials expect improved road conditions to cut vehicle operating costs and reduce travel times, with benefits for freight movements and daily commuters alike. Improved drainage and resurfacing are also expected to reduce accident risks associated with standing water and uneven patches. The work will be monitored through quality checks and periodic audits to ensure material and workmanship standards are met. Residents will be urged to report defects and non compliance through municipal helplines so corrective action can be taken promptly.

Completion by the target date will depend on weather windows and supply chain stability, and contingency plans have been outlined to manage unforeseen delays. The authority intends to publish progress updates and maps of ongoing works to help commuters plan alternate routes. Longer term maintenance strategies will be reviewed after the drive to prioritise preventive resurfacing and budget allocations. Coordination with neighbouring jurisdictions will be sought to ensure continuity of surfaced links at administrative boundaries.
