Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami laid the foundation stone for the second phase of a road widening project in Sahaspur Assembly constituency, covering kilometre one to 10 of the stretch from Mithiberry via Parwal to Vigyan Dham Jhajhra. The project is estimated to cost Rs120.34 million (mn). Authorities said the work is intended to improve regional connectivity.

He said strong road infrastructure underpins the state's development and that better connectivity would boost local trade, tourism, education and healthcare. He approved measures including drinking water supply, drainage works, a Mokshdham and embankment projects. Officials said the announcements responded to civic concerns in Sahaspur.

Planned works include a tubewell at Bhauwala, a drain from Daru Chowk to the Keshavwala river to tackle waterlogging, and a Mokshdham near Arcadia Badowala Park. Embankment and road construction from Asanpur to the cremation ground will improve access and protect against erosion, while embankments on the Asan River at Umedpur and Parwal are intended to safeguard agricultural land. Additional embankment work was approved for Badowala residential area in Municipal Ward number 93 and for road protection in Pondha.

The Chief Minister emphasised the government's commitment to expanding infrastructure and prioritising inclusive development with a special focus on women's empowerment. He highlighted the Lakhpati Didi scheme as enabling self-help groups to manufacture goods competitive with multinational companies and described women as the backbone of the hill economy. He said that under national leadership India had become the fourth-largest economy and that Uttarakhand's economy had grown 26-fold while power generation had increased fourfold.

The release stated the budget had crossed Rs1 trillion (tn) and that reverse migration had risen by 44 per cent, with preparations under way for 10,000 to 12,000 recruitments this year to increase employment. It said the government would not tolerate tampering with the identity, culture or demographic balance of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand and would enforce a Uniform Civil Code, a strict anti-copying law and action against illegal encroachment and land mafia. He acknowledged MLA Sahdev Singh Pundir for his role in addressing regional issues.
