MIC Electronics gets Rs 10.5 million variation order from Central Railway

MIC Electronics has received a variation order worth approximately Rs 10.5 million from the Nagpur Division of Central Railway, expanding the scope of its ongoing passenger information and telecom infrastructure project under the Amrit Bharat Scheme. With this addition, the total contract value has been revised to Rs 94.2 million, up from the original Rs 83.7 million.

The variation forms part of an existing contract awarded to MIC Electronics for the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of telecom assets and passenger amenities across seven stations in the Nagpur Division. The project covers integrated Passenger Information Display Systems (IPIS), public address systems, networking infrastructure and digital display integration aimed at modernising station-level passenger communication.

The expanded scope includes additional display boards, augmentation of public address systems, and extension of optical fibre, power and data cabling to enhance connectivity and coverage. MIC Electronics will deploy managed Layer-2 PoE switches, additional OFC and shielded data cabling, PA amplifiers and speakers, racks, LIUs and associated networking hardware to improve system redundancy, reliability and real-time passenger communication.

All upgrades will continue to comply with RDSO and Indian Railways specifications, including requirements for networking equipment, PA systems, UPS infrastructure and cabling standards. Enhancements include gigabit-capable managed switches and high-capacity UPS systems with N+1 architecture.

Commenting on the development, Rakshit Mathur, CEO, MIC Electronics, said, “This variation order reflects the trust placed in MIC Electronics’ execution capabilities and our integrated approach to passenger information systems. As stations under the Amrit Bharat Scheme evolve, the focus is clearly shifting toward robust, networked and scalable digital infrastructure that improves passenger communication and operational reliability.”

With revenues expected to be recognised across FY25 and FY26, the revised contract enhances MIC Electronics’ order book visibility and strengthens its positioning as an integrated provider of IPIS, PA systems, telecom, networking and digital display solutions for Indian Railways.
