Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu (the lieutenant governor) has approved land allotments to expedite long-pending infrastructure and welfare projects across the capital, aiming to improve public services and urban facilities. The decisions, taken after reviews and directives to improve coordination between the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) and other agencies, cover security, health, education and environmental sectors. The move is intended to remove bottlenecks and accelerate implementation timelines for ongoing schemes. Security infrastructure will be strengthened with land allocated for four new police stations at Dilkusha Bagh, Sagarpur, Suyurpur and Kishangarh, and for a Forensic Science Laboratory in Narela. Intelligence Bureau stations will receive sites at Dheerpur and Tahirpur. Judicial staff housing has been approved for Rohini and Shahdara. These allotments aim to bolster investigative capacity and accommodation for personnel. Urban services development includes allotment of 20 hectares at Sanoth for the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) depot and 16 hectares at Narela for a casting yard. The Delhi Jal Board (DJB) has been cleared for 151 borewells and land for sewage treatment plants at eight locations, and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has been granted 24 fixed compactor transfer station sites plus land at Ghazipur for Waste-to-Energy and bio-methanization facility expansion. The measures seek to expand transit support, water infrastructure and municipal waste processing capacity. Community welfare and education projects were prioritised, with eight point five hectares at Holambi Kalan set aside for an E-Waste Eco Management Park and clearances issued for 112 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs and five Atal Canteens. Land has also been allocated for community halls at Sub-Registrar offices in Dwarka and Manglapuri while the Narela Education Hub will receive parcels for institutions including Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) with 22.43 acres, Delhi Technological University (DTU) with 12.69 acres and Central Sanskrit University (CSU). Further approvals include a Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) site in Jwalapuri of four point one acres and school plots in Shalimar Bagh and Karawal Nagar.
