Centre to support Kerala in road development: Nitin Gadkari

Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has promised Kerala's Minister of State (MoS) V Muraleedharan that the centre will help in Kerala road development as soon as it gets the project proposal from the Kerala government.

The centre will take a favorable decision on the proposed greenfield highway from Kozhikode to Coimbatore through Palakkad as soon as it gets the project proposal from the Kerala government.

Muraleedharan told the media that the centre has also shown its readiness to build an alternative route between Mysore and Kozhikode without obtaining forest land.

Nitin Gadkari also informed that the Kanyakumari-Mumbai National Highway work will be on fast-track. The Centre has also given directions to the state government to expedite the Thalassery - Mahe - Vadakara bypass and Kozhikode bypass work, Muraleedharan’s office told the media.

Further, Gadkari told Muraleedharan that the centre would approve a flyover at Plavila Junction in Kanjiramkulam panchayat that joins Kazhivoor-Thazhamcode road along the national highway in Thiruvananthapuram.

Malabar Chamber of Commerce (MCC) president Haseeb Ahamed, vice-president Nityanand Kamat, secretary Mehboob, BJP state secretary P Reghunath, and Kozhikode Corporation councilors Navya Haridas accompanied Muraleedharan.
