NHAI Clears Elevated Stretch on Faridabad-Jewar Expressway

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has received approval to construct an 8.5-km elevated section on the Greenfield Expressway connecting Faridabad to Jewar International Airport. This addition is expected to increase the total project cost from Rs 16.5 billion to approximately Rs 24.5 billion.
Pillar construction for this elevated stretch has already started near Sector 65, linking the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway with local city infrastructure. However, the final agreement on funding responsibilities between NHAI and the state government is still pending.
Part of the Bharatmala Pariyojana, the six-lane expressway spans 22 km from Ballabhgarh to Dayanatpur village near Jewar, passing through several villages, including Chandawali, Sotai, and Chhainsa. This project is expected to boost road connectivity and drive local economic growth along the Faridabad-Jewar route.
